Our goal is to provide the safest, happiest home away from home for your dog! Here is how we do it!
Open for daycare 7 days a week, boarding 364 days a year and training and grooming during all opening hours, we have provided a one stop shop for your pup!
Puppies Welcome!
Dogs of all ages are welcome at Talk to the Tail! Puppies and adult dogs welcome! Puppies can be as young as 8 weeks old as long as their vaccines are up to date - puppies are required to have their second round of puppy shots (and Rabies by 6 months) to attend Talk to the Tail!
Spay and neuter policy
Daycare, Cage Free Overnight Boarding and Group Play Policy: All dogs must be spayed/neutered to enjoy group play after 6 months of age. Once your pup reaches 6 months of age, they will need to take a break from daycare until the procedure is complete. Once done and healed, they are able to return to daycare any day of the week! We will advise what day is best for them upon their return. Training, Private Overnight Boarding and Grooming Policy: All dogs welcome! As long as your dog is up to date on vaccines, they are welcome to join us for all service that do not involve group play! Register on Gingr now to start your dog's journey with us!
Vaccination Policy
All dogs must be up to date on their vaccination. Vaccination proof from vet to be deposited on Gingr. We require:
Parvo
Distemper (combination vaccine accepted DA2PP)
Rabies
We do not require the Bordetella vaccine (kennel cough). Dogs can still contract kennel cough with the Bordetella vaccine and can be contracted anywhere dogs have been - from a walk, the dog park or daycare - as it is an airborne illness.
All puppies under 6 months of age are able to attend daycare once their second round of puppy shots are complete.
License and Registration
As a requirement by the Town of Niverville, all dogs must be licensed and registered in their respective municipalities. We will need proof of registration upon first day of daycare. Please reach out to the Town of Niverville for more information!
Zero Aggression Policy
Talk to the Tail offers a safe space for all dogs and humans. Daycare, Cage Free Overnight Boarding and Group Play Policy: Zero aggression policy in effect. Any interactions with other dogs requires a friendly dog with no previous past incidents of aggression. If you are not sure, an assessment is required before booking any services. Reach out to [email protected] with any questions! Training, Private Overnight Boarding and Grooming Policy: All dogs who attend our facility must be friendly with humans of all ages and sizes. Talk to the Tail trainers do not offer training in dog or human aggression or resource guarding. Private Overnight Boarding is a space welcome for dogs who may not do well with other dogs, but they must be friendly with humans. They do not interact with other dogs unless a daycare assessment has been complete with Sara. All dogs who attend for grooming must be well mannered and have no history of aggression during past grooming experiences. Our groomer holds the right to stop a groom at any time if aggressive behaviours arise. Please reach out for more information!
Daycare Intake and Assessment Process
All NEW dogs must complete a 3 day daycare trial before being accepted and placed into the daycare and cage free overnight boarding programs. Upon registering in Gingr, there is a questionnaire that needs to be filled out and then reviewed by a staff member before booking your dog's first day.
There are two options to enter the daycare program at Talk to the Tail: 1) 15 minute assessment with Sara and Half Day (up to 5 hours) of Daycare - $15+gst - this option is for dogs who:
May be reactive dog, under-socialized, or have little dog group play experience
Are nervous, unsure and need time to build confidence
Have past isolated issues with humans - gives them a chance to meet our staff to see if they are comfortable with us
Once passed, all dogs move on to option 2
If daycare is not suitable, options and alternate program options will be recommended
2) 3 Day Daycare Assessment - cost of FULL daycare day booked (regular daycare or enrichment) - this option is for dogs who:
Have prior daycare, dog park and group play experience with no previous issues or dog aggression
