Talk to the Tail Niverville opened on September 8th, 2020 in the middle of a very confusing time but our story didn't start there. Talk to the Tail came as an idea to Sara when she was living in Saskatchewan. When she returned to Manitoba in 2018, she met her now fiancé Tim who was living in Niverville, and saw a massive opportunity for her dream to come true in one incredible community. The hunt for the perfect space was on! It did not come easy, as Niverville did not have a lot of spaces to offer, but in the Summer of 2019 Sara and Tim toured 86 Main St for the first time. They left the building and looked at each other and said: all that work?! Can WE do it? After many months of searching, exhausting resources and coming up with nothing, Sara knew something had to be done. That is when she met Nick, Scott and Sandy. They gave Sara an amazing opportunity to live out her dreams at 86 Main St., and created the space we love and know today. We became a team in Fall of 2019 and this is where our amazing, scary, exhilarating, exhausting success story begins. With a space secured, it was time to head to the Town of Niverville for approval. With so many unknowns, Covid rearing its head and renovations already underway (yes, we could not wait - this was SCARY), our Conditional Use permit to operate at 86 Main St. was approved in April of 2020 with absolutely overwhelming support from the community. This is where we dove in, not only construction, but into a new world of lockdown, unknowns and stress. We knew one thing - Talk to the Tail Niverville was going to open as planned in September of 2020 and that is what we did. Fast forward through a summer of stress, sweat and tears, our opening day was a massive success. September 8th, 2020 is a day we will never forget. To this day, we not only filled our daycare spaces faster than the space could keep up with, but the positive support from Niverville, the most amazing community in the world, and support from other businesses was overwhelming. We grew, and grew, and grew (staff, dogs, services...) and 3 short years later we finally looked at one another, throwing our 5 year plan out the window, and said: we need MORE space, we need to offer MORE services and we NEED to grow! Second location on Main Street... in Île-Des-Chênes! Our amazing expansion started when a promising opportunity arose in Île-Des-Chênes in October of 2022. After hearing about an amazing trainer looking to relocate, Sara dove right in to an amazing, turn key space in another supportive and wonderful community. With minimal adjustments Talk to the Tail Île-Des-Chênes opened its doors in November of 2022. Upon opening, daycare was full from day one. Starting out with 2 daycare days a week and reduced hours to allow Sara to adjust to running two locations, the spaces quickly filled up and more daycare days were added, staff hired, and the plan for extended hours are now on the horizon. Tim and Sara wanted to put the personal Talk to the Tail touch on the Île-Des-Chênes location and did a mini-reno in the winter of 2024 that revamped the space, brought it back to life and made the dogs feel more at home than ever. Although the space is smaller and set up differently, we are able to provide the same personal care and service we offer in Niverville with a twist. And it is safe to say, the dogs of Île-Des-Chênes and surrounding areas LOVE this space and staff! Our adventure in Île-Des-Chênes came to an end in July of 2024. Our brand new facility in Niverville 2023 brought a year of changes and progress for Talk to the Tail Niverville. Since we had been so wildly successful over the past 3 years, news of further business expansion in Niverville made us look at one another and come to a harsh yet exciting reality. We NEEDED to grow to maintain our quality of service and expand to keep up with demands of an ever growing community. The opportunity was brought to light in the summer of 2023 that there was a space available for development in the Niverville Industrial Park. There was no way we could say no, and reached out to Nick and Scott, and started our newest journey - the creation and building of 455 Wittick St, Niverville. Things started to move very quickly, from a pencil drawing in a notebook made by Sara to actual building plans, Scott, Heather and the PBR Construction team broke ground on our newest reality in the winter of 2023. This was the beginning and end of the story. Not only did Scott and Heather and the PBR Construction Team create the most fantastic, custom, brand new facility, they made Sara's wildest dreams a reality. With all things construction, there were delays, moved walls, added plumbing - if Sara asked, it was done, and done better than she asked. Along with the stresses of construction, there were always laughs, brainstorming sessions and friendships built that will last a life time. On May 1st, 2024, the NEW Talk to the Tail Niverville located at 455 Wittick St opened its doors. The rest is history for us to create... Our community at heart Sara learned quickly how tight-nit and supportive the community of Niverville is when she moved in with her fiancé Tim in 2017. She dove right in and did all she could to support the community back. Over the years, Sara and Talk to the Tail have showed their support of Niverville not only through services offered, but by joining the Niverville Chamber of Commerce as soon as incorporation was compete, and soon after Sara joined the Board of Director of the Niverville Chamber of Commerce. To Sara's surprise, she was nominated for the Niverville Chamber of Commerce Customer Service Award in 2022. Although, not a winner, this was a HUGE win for the Talk to the Tail Team and all the passion, dedication and hard work they had all put in. This was a pivotal moment for Sara and her team, and they started to dive into their community further. Organizing dog park clean up events, meet up events, advocating for garbage bin additions in Niverville for dog messes, and so much more, community involvement became Sara's passion. Every little bit Talk to the Tail put in did not go unnoticed, in 2023 Talk to the Tail was nominated and awarded recipient of the Niverville Chamber of Commerce New Business of the Year Award. This was the most honourable, humbling and uplifting experience for Sara, Tim and the Talk to the Tail Team. Our business and community as a whole recognized every ounce of what we have put in to make our business the most incredible it could possibly be. Our recognition did not stop there, Talk to the Tail were proud nominees of the Niverville Chamber of Commerce Customer Service Award and although again, not winning the award, recognizing the nomination as a win in its own - and just as rewarding as winning. Making an impact is what is most important to Talk to the Tail and this allows us to move forward and grow into an even more community involved, welcoming and amazing place for dogs and humans alike!
