Talk to the Tail's Response and Action Plan for COVID-19
The health and safety of our customers and employees are number one. We are here to do our part to keep our community safe.
A Letter from our Owner
To our valued customers,
Thank you for your patronage and support.
At Talk to the Tail, we are committed to putting our people and customers first. With COVID-19 cases back on the rise and with so much yet to understand, we wanted to take a moment to let you know the extraordinary and proactive steps we are taking to ensure our team’s and client's safety safety.
Disclaimer: This document reflects our best knowledge at the time of writing and will be continually updated to incorporate new learnings as they surface.
We have implemented a number of guidelines that will help us reduce exposure to and transmission of a range of illnesses, including novel coronavirus. See Talk to the Tail Guidelines below.
During this time, we want to emphasize for our customers and employees as suggested by the Province of Manitoba:
We know that social distancing may also impact us in our personal lives, with the potential for school closures and/or transit reductions. Talk to the Tail is dedicated to supporting our customers and employees, and we feel that we are in a position to minimize these issues by staying safe as an establishment.
In the guidelines listed below, you’ll find our latest thinking on how Talk to the Tail will adapt its practices to ensure that we continue to deliver against our clients’ expectations, while also making decisions in a thoughtful manner that prioritizes the safety of our team. We ask that you also make responsible decisions in your personal life, avoiding concerts, sporting events, non-essential travel and other large public gatherings.
Of course, we will monitor incoming COVID-19 updates from Health Canada, and amend and adjust these guidelines at regular intervals as the situation develops. We thank you for your understanding and patience.
Sincerely,
Sara Matwycuk
Talk to the Tail Guidelines for Customers and Employees
Communication
Talk to the Tails asks that our customers do not enter our facility or bring their dog in general should they be exhibiting signs of the cold or flu, and to let us know if symptoms develop and they have brought their dog to daycare in the past 14 days.
Safety precautions
We are elevating our safety precautions. Talk to the Tail expects that our clients and their dog remain home for at least 14 days from the onset of symptoms. Once symptoms have been communicated we will set a date to assist in tracking and notifying you when their dog is able to return to daycare as long as symptoms have dissipated.
We encourage our clients and staff to follow usual health precautions, such as:
The front door will be locked for clients and general. We ask our clients ring the bell or call upon arrival and we will allow them into our facility one at a time. Talk to the Tail is limiting the number of customers in the lobby at a time to ONE customer or household. All clients will be requested to sanitize hands upon entering the building for pick up and drop off. Leashes and belongings will be sanitized and cleaned prior to being placed in a designated cubby. This cubby will only be used for one dog's belongings and all belongings will be separated. All surfaces will be wiped down and sanitized after a client enters and exits the building which is why we ask our clients wait until we allow them in. We will request that clients practice social distancing whether inside or out of the building. All employees of Talk to the Tail are required to wear a mask when in the front lobby and there are any customers, clients or vendors present. Masks need not be worn by employees in the daycare room UNLESS a client, customer or vendor is visiting and we do request the visitor also wears a mask.
Overview
Talk to the Tail number one priority in this difficult time is staff and client safety. Should you have any suggestions or concerns please reach out to ownership. We are always looking to grow and establish our policies.
